A New World Record

It took 3 days and over 6 hours of shooting. Professor G (Gerrod Trytten of OHoops Training) has unofficially broken the Guinness World Record for most NBA 3 pointers in 60 seconds. The old mark, standing at 25, was established in 2007 by an athlete out of Oregon. Now, 5 years later, that record has found it's way in a facility out of Orlando, Florida. This feat has been featured in Dime Magazine, on ESPN's SportsNation, the Bleacher Report and has even found its way into overseas blogs and publications. Watch the video of him breaking the record below and CLICK HERE to see the exclusive, behind the scenes look at the 3 day journey into the record books.

BREAKING NEWS!!!

One of The Professors from OHoops is now TIED for the Guinness World Record, most NBA 3 pointers in 60 seconds. Professor G knocked down 25, just letting go off his last shot a little too late which would have made him the new world record holder.

Both Professor G and Professor Rickey will be attempting the record again next week because they don't want to settle for a tie.  The only person Professor G would share the record with is another Professor, so be prepared for a new world record sometime next week!

Quote of the Week

"We didn't lose, we just ran out of time." #OHoops

Winning is determined by a number of factors; Preparation, discipline, hard work, commitment, ability etc.  However, one of the most important factors that many don't recognize is attitude and mindset.  With the right mindset, you will be able to achieve far more than the average person.  Being able to push yourself past that breaking point, the ability to accept constructive criticism, the understanding that losing is inevitable, but failure is an option.  Learn from your mistakes and make a vow that the next time you are confronted with a similar situation, you will not make those same mistakes twice!

The Professors have a Point(3) to Prove!

The Guinness World Record for the most basketball three point shots made in one minute is 25. This record was set by Daniel Loriaux at Club Sport Oregon in Tigard, Oregon, USA, on 9 May 2007.Well, September 18th, 2013 at 11 a.m. two of the Professors from OHoops Training will be taking turns and raising the bar.

The Professors are Professional Basketball Trainers out of Orlando, Florida. These guys train the likes of Houston Rocket’s rising superstar Chandler Parsons, two time National Champion Taurean Green (now plays professional basketball in Europe) Nick Calathes, who was just signed by the Memphis Grizzlies and many more pro and college level athletes.

Recently, the OHoops Professors kicked off their Official YouTube campaign, challenging the world to #BeatTheProfessors. Every month they release a new video challenge and accept any and all submissions from ball players worldwide attempting to keep up. The winners will be invited to Orlando, Florida in August 2014 for free training and to compete in a 5 v 5 game, #TheChallengers vs. #TheProfessors. They are out to prove they are the best in the business at what they do. To emphasize this point, they have set their sights on breaking a world record.

Let’s meet the Professors:

Professor G
For the past 8 years, Gerrod Trytten has dedicated his life to enhancing skills and abilities of basketball players all over the state of Florida. Professor G has a true passion for improving player skills and developing mental toughness. He has a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from the University of Central Florida, specializing in coaching, personal training, and human performance. Currently the Chief Operating Officer for OHoops Training, he still finds time to work on his game on a daily basis and has the mindset that he can never lose. This is the type of confidence that OHoops builds and is the reason that Professor G won’t leave the gym until the world record is broken.

Professor Rickey
Rickey Claitt has been training with OHoops since he was in 6th grade. Currently The Lab Manager and Lead Trainer for OHoops, Professor Rickey has lived the OHoops Lifestyle and is now helping other athletes do the same. He won a State Championship in high school, started two years for Oregon State and played 3 years overseas in Denmark and Germany. This guy is so good that even watching him demonstrate drills to a client is exciting to watch. When Professor Rickey laces up his sneakers, you know it’s time for business, and he never leaves a job unfinished. That world record is in some serious jeopardy.

Oh, and just when you were beginning to feel that the world record had no chance, the Professors have another advantage. Call it unfair, but they will be wearing The World’s Best Basketball Shorts from Point 3! They are the lightest, most comfortable and most innovative pair of basketball shorts ever to be released. Just when the Professors hands start to get sweaty, the special moisture control hip panels conveniently located outside the pocket, will allow them to dry their hands in .3 seconds before hitting their 26th shot to break the world record!

Still have doubts? Follow @OHoopsTraining and @Point3Hoops on Twitter and you will have access to the video as soon as it is released.

Remember 9/11

To all those lost, to all those loved, to all those families, to all the heroes and all those who made sacrifices; to all the soldiers and fellow patriots, to all the donations and supporters, to all those who helped rebuild, shelter and feed; to those who suffered and to all those who survived, we want to salute each and every one of you for everything you've done.

You are all heroes, and truly define this great country.  Through times of tremendous adversity when it would have been so easy to give up, you stayed strong.  And because you stayed strong, we have never been stronger as a nation. OHoops salutes you all.  You are true heroes.

No Dead End

In this world, there is unlimited potential and unlimited opportunities.  It's up to us to keep on persevering and moving forwards.  Without ambition and hard work, doors that could be opened remain closed.  We than proceed to label these doors as 'impossible' simply because we are not willing to EARN the key to unlock them. The truth is, you locked the door in the first place.

3 Simple Words, 1 Powerful Message

"Just Do It" - Nike

Don't just talk about it, be about it.  Don't just dream about it, achieve it.  Don't just wish for it, go get it.  It's amazing how three simple, meaningless words can come together to form one of the most powerful and influential messages to Athletes worldwide.  No excuses, no days off, no plays off, no regrets, no more settling, no more doubts; from this point on JUST DO IT.
